Just in time for the summer season, we're thrilled to release the first remixes from Eivind Aarset & Jan Bang's album "Last Two Inches Of The Sky". "Legion" has been carefully reworked by the renowned Norwegian DJ, producer, and influencer Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus, also celebrated as one half of the Mungolian Jetset duo. This version is nothing short of spectacular. Featuring the unmistakable vocals of the legendary Nona Hendryx, Strangefruit, together with Jan Bang, has transformed this track into a lush, semi-tropical groove rich with sun-soaked rhythms and marked by the distinctive flavors of dub, reggae, and soulful funk. These remixes are fittingly titled the Compass Joint versions, serving as a tribute to the golden age of Compass Point Studio in the Bahamas, a favorite haunt of icons such as Grace Jones, Tom Tom Club, and Black Uhuru. During this era, the pervasive rhythmic support from Sly and Robbie also permeated the studio like a dense fog of sound. In the spirit of that specific sound, Eivind Aarset and bassist Audun Erlien also contributes additional textures and hooks, making this rendition a very hot Norwegian export!
