Arve Henriksen
Born in 1968, Arve Henriksen studied at the Trondheim Conservatory from 1987-1991, and has worked as a freelance musician since 1988.
He has worked with many musicians, including Marilyn Mazur, Nils Petter Molvær, Sidsel Endresen, Christian Wallumrød Ensemble, Nils Økland, Morten Qvenild, Per Oddvar Johansen, Iain Ballamy, Thomas Strønen, Gjermund Larsen, Svante Henryson, Mats Eilertsen, David Sylvian, Jon Hassell, Maja Ratkje, Laurie Anderson, John Paul Jones, Erik Honoré, Toshimaru Nakamura, Susanna Wallumrød, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Gavin Bryars, Johanna McGregor, Imogen Heap, Guy Sigsworth, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Bill Frisell, Dj Strangefruit, David Kollar, Jannis Anastasakis, Giorgos Varoutas, Anna Linardou, Jez Riley French, Sigurd Hole, Helge Norbakken, Ingar Zach, Audun Kleive, Anders Jormin, John Derek Bishop, Kjetil Husebø, and many more.
He has played in many different contexts, bands and projects, ranging from working with koto player Satsuki Odamura to the rock band Motorpsycho via numerous free improvising groups with Ernst Reisiger, Sten Sandell, Peter Friis-Nilsen, Lotte Anker, Hasse Poulsen, Terje Isungset, Benoit Delbecq, Steve Arguelles, Lars Juul and Marc Ducret.
He has collaborated with composers such as Peter Tornquist, Helge Sunde, Terje Bjørklund and Tõnu Kõrvits in cooperation with orchestras and chamber settings like Cikada String Quartet, Nidaros String Quartet, Zapp 4, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Kristiansand and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Britten Sinfonia, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, The Norwegian Wind Ensemble and Trondheim Soloists.He has worked together with video- and visual artists like Anastasia Isachsen, Tord Knudsen, Lillevan and Gregory Colbert.
David Kollar
Slovak experimental guitarist / composer David Kollar emerges as one of the most intriguing figures on the European Avant-Garde / Jazz scene in the last decade. His utterly unique approach both to the guitar as an instrument and the contemporary improvising / compositional idioms are fascinating and completely innovative.
Kollar's numerous recording projects, both as a solo artist and as a collaborator, are milestones of contemporary European experimental music sphere and each of those discloses another facet of his complex and constantly developing musical identity and his artistic personality. Kollar treats his music with a deep degree of seriousness and personal involvement, as if each and every one of his projects was not only his proverbial brain child but as if it was his actual offspring. He treats his instrument as a gateway between his complex ideas and their audible representation, the same way a sculptor treats the chisel or a painter the brush.
David has released more than 20 expansive albums, books, scored more than 20 films and worked on many multimedia projects.
Kim Reenskaug
Kim Reenskaug is a musician, composer and improviser working with electronic and electroacoustic music. With his solo project Wow Sailor he has released the album "Happy Fear" on Dugnad Rec, which features collaborations from Arve Henriksen and Synne Sanden.
Blending ambient textures, noise, field recordings with various acoustic sound sources and traditional instruments, "Happy Fear" is an intricate tapestry of emotional experience, where fear and joy clash heads in the pursuit of self-understanding.
He is interested in the interplay and connection between various types of audio technology, and how it can describe our contemporary society and human condition. Combining elements like percussion and synthesis with tape equipment, dc motors, feedback and digital production his work takes multiple forms and genres. Collaborating with Corentin JPM Leven in the performance “Birds Of Ill Omen”, and with visual artist and filmmaker Hamid Waheed.
